Who we are
Precise weather forecasts and personal consultation for safe decisions at sea and ashore.
Built on 27 years of experience.
Fleet status, voyage planning, high-resolution weather and routing in one web-based application.
METEO TRACKER connects planning, current position data and sailed tracks with automatic route finding and weather. Shore operations and captains onboard work with the same up-to-date information.
THE CORE FUNCTIONS
Current position data provides a reliable overview. Sailed tracks are recorded, voyages are planned in the tool and – when the data is available – the next planned voyage is already displayed.
Our proprietary algorithm combines vessel characteristics, nautical requirements and time-dependent weather data with ChartWorld’s Route Network. The result is a realistic set of alternatives instead of a generic standard route.
Nautical data source: ChartWorld Route Network
Our high-resolution weather data is not merely displayed on the chart. It feeds directly into route finding, allowing route alternatives to be compared reliably under the expected conditions.
ECONOMIC ROUTE PLANNING
Our proprietary route-finding technology evaluates each leg for the time at which the vessel is expected to reach it. It combines weather and ocean forecasts, nautical requirements and the performance data of the specific vessel. The result is not simply a navigable path, but the economically appropriate route for that vessel and voyage.
Favourable currents increase speed over ground. Adverse currents and their effects on voyage time and consumption are included in the calculation.
Strength, height and direction affect every vessel differently. Vessel-specific speed profiles reveal where speed is lost and which alternative is more economical.
The calculation uses the vessel’s consumption curve, current draft and different bunker prices inside and outside ECAs.
Safety depth, maximum draft, air draft, closed areas, traffic corridors and speed limits remain part of every calculated route.
METEO TRACKER calculates the route accordingly and reports ETA, consumption and fuel cost transparently.
The objective: less fuel, lower bunker costs and a route tailored to vessel and voyage.
SHORE AND BRIDGE SYNCHRONIZED
Reported routes, current positions and the expected weather development come together in one shared browser-based view. Shore operations and captains onboard can see the same basis for the next decision.
Keep track of fleet status and voyage progress and assess alternatives in their weather context.
See the reported route and expected conditions on the same up-to-date basis.
Example view: a reported route in the context of the expected weather development.
OPTIONAL ROUTING SERVICE
With Active Routing, our team accompanies the vessel from planning to destination. Dennis Brüning represents our meteorologists and routers, who continuously assess the developing weather and route and support captains directly onboard.
The Anglo-Eastern Fleet Performance Cell ranks WetterWelt among the best weather-routing providers it works with – particularly for forecast accuracy and the professional, detailed advice given to captains.
